SAM & LAURA ABELARDE
Adoption – China
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that we are home! We had a wonderful trip to China to pick up our beautiful new son, Gideon aka Chu Chu. Everything went very smoothly and we know that is because of all you back home praying for us. The brothers are enjoying getting to know each other and we feel so blessed to finally all be together as a family.
Thanks again to Love Has Come for your partnership on this journey!

I just wanted to take the time to tell you how much we appreciate being given the blessing of a Forever Family Fund Grant. Our son Asher was abandoned in China at the age of 6 months old, presumably because he has Down syndrome. He lived in his local orphanage and several foster families for 7 years waiting for his forever family. We knew we wanted to adopt and the second I saw my son’s sweet face on a waiting child list, I knew God wanted him to be a part of our family. The only problem was figuring out how we were going to come up with the $30,000 + needed to bring our boy home. Because of your Forever Family Fund Grant, along with several other grants and the generosity of family and friends, we had EVERY PENNY NEEDED in just a year and a half’s time! What an incredible blessing it is to experience the love and support from people we’ve never even met. To see your heart for the fatherless and your desire for every child to have what they so greatly deserve: a forever family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping bring our son home!
We cannot express enough how grateful we are to Love Has Come for the ministry you are providing to families like ours. Your help has been a tremendous blessing to us. Six years ago, my husband and I started our adoption journey. We now have two boys, Isaiah (age 3) & Gideon (2 years old) whom we have brought home through adoption It has been an emotional few years, full of ups and downs, but the joy of holding our two boys has definitely been worth it. This journey has deepened our relationship with one another and with God.
One of the hardest parts of both of our adoptions has been wondering how we are going to fund the adoption. My husband is a pastor at a small church and I am a stay at home mom. We are on a very tight budget and to fund one adoption is basically a whole years salary for us! This has been a time where our faith was put to the test and made stronger. I am proud to say that has God provided 100% of our financial needs and He used several foundations like yourselves to make adoption a reality for our family. God continually reminded us of how mighty He is and how our lives are completely in His hands.
Both of our children are such gifts from the Lord and we thank God every day for allowing them to come to our family. We will forever be grateful for the very generous grant we received from Love Has Come!
Serving With You,
Sam, Laura, Isaiah & Gideon
