The
Projects

Be the answer to a
seriously huge question.
The Projects branch of LHC is under rapid and exciting formation.  At our start date of April, 2011 we had a dream to become global.  Well, we're not sure what "global" means but the term reflects our passion to get out there and get it done.  I suppose we've gone global since our first overseas Love Project is Project Haiti.  As we explore Haiti and other initiatives we feel like Lewis and Clark as they planned their westward explorations, “Where do we start and where do we go, Clark?” (Had to give Lewis and Clark some props since LHC is domiciled in Montana).

Here's the deal.  We want people to pursue orphans.  That's it.  That's the deal.  We don't care where these kids live or how hard it is to get to them.  They need us, we hear their voice, and we're going to them.

Below are our guidelines and parameters that guide our Projects strategy.  Got to have a road map, right?

To sum it up, here’s LHC’s Love Projects philosophy:
  1. Work in countries that possess:
    1. A reasonably cooperative government
    2. Orphanages that allow on-the-ground relief efforts
    3. Orphanages that allow relief efforts AND allow adoptions
    4. Permissions for established, US domiciled adoption agencies to facilitate adoptions
  2. Limit our efforts to a manageable number of locations and focus on building deep relationships with orphan houses. Our ultimate desire is to send aid to orphan houses AND advocate for resident orphans.
  3. Don’t reinvent the wheel. We desire to utilize the services of other like-minded organizations to get love to orphans; no reason to home-grow if someone else has it going on.
We're getting our hands dirty with project Haiti.
In the wake of the horrible earthquake of 2010, orphanages are overwhelmed. We are building close relationships with Haitian orphanages to increase adoptions for this country in need.
